One of the greatest living African musicians, certainly the greatest Afrobeat star, multiple "Grammy" nominee, UNICEF ambassador, the legendary Femi Kuti is coming to Belgrade again! Tickets are on sale through the Efinity sales network.

The tireless Nigerian artist Femi Anikulapo Kuti makes the whole planet sing, dance and think to the sound of Afrobeat.

< p>The prince of Afrobeat, a great fighter for political and social justice, a consistent successor to his great father Fela Kuti - all these are the words that most often describe the character and work of the famous Nigerian musician Femi Kuti.

Femi Kuti is accompanied by his big band "The Positive Force", who, as music critics around the world say, make everything seem like 3 shows in one.

UNICEF goodwill ambassador, Femi Kuti, will visit Belgrade again as part of the European tour 'Politics Don Expose Them', and accompanied by his big band and dancers will hold a show that we will remember for a long time.

Femi, known for his relentless energy and powerful, colorful performances, continues to captivate audiences around the world with his thought-provoking messages that reflect his unwavering commitment to political and social activism.

He started his musical career in the eighties, playing in his father's band Egypt 80. As the son of Fela Kuti, a pioneer of Afrobeat, he went independent in 1986, forming his own band The Positive Force.

Since then, he has released 8 studio albums and 2 vinyl releases. He was nominated six times for the Grammy award, the last time in 2022 in the category of Best Global Music Album for the double album Legacy+, published by Partisan Records (2021). In the same year, the song "Pà Pá Pà" received praise from top international critics and earned a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category at the 2022 Grammy Awards. Femi is the owner of numerous hits and albums, who lives his music with equal passion, but also leads the fight for human rights and all other problems of the African continent, which is why Amnesty International named him its "African ambassador".

From the stage of The New Africa Shrine, his cult club located in the heart of bustling Lagos, where he plays several times a week, to the great hall of the Philharmonic in Paris, via New York, Johannesburg, Sydney or Tokyo, Femi carries his message of hope and unity around the world. To see Femi Kuti in concert is to be transported into the heat of a heady night of dance and trance at the New Africa Shrine and partake in a unique musical experience of extraordinary generosity. Afrobeat, an urban, modern and hybrid musical universe, where the sounds of African tradition and Yoruba rhythms merge with styles such as jazz, funk, punk and hip-hop.

Through his texts, he directly attacks and condemns corruption, poverty and oppression and tirelessly defends human rights, social justice and equality. Femi Kuti is also involved in important philanthropic causes, regularly collaborating with organizations such as Amnesty International, or initiatives such as Global Citizen.

A long career took him to all continents. He was nominated no less than six times for the Grammy Award and declared a Knight of Arts and Letters in France. For Femi Kuti, music and dedication is a story for a lifetime.

Born in 1962, Femi grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where he started playing the saxophone at the age of 15. He took his first steps on stage when he joined the group Egypt 80, led by his father, the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti. After two years, Femi had to replace his father Fela at the head of the group, who was brutally imprisoned by the Nigerian authorities, because of his political affiliations. In 1987, Femi Kuti formed his own group, The Positive Force, and quickly established himself as one of the great voices of contemporary African music. After 35 years, a dozen albums and thousands of concerts, Femi Kuti remains one of Africa's greatest artists. His music is rediscovered by prestigious international DJs, and he collaborates with great artists such as Wizkid, Coldplay, electro producer Robert Hood, IAM and many others... < p>In May 2017, he was entered into the Guinness Book of Records after producing the longest continuous tone on the saxophone for 51 minutes and 35 seconds!
