This concert not only presents the distinctive Andalusian flamenco, but brings the audience closer to the music, landscapes and traditions of Castile! The historic region of Castile is the heart of Spain. It is the homeland of Don Quixote and the site of abandoned medieval castles. A center that unites the tradition and heritage of both capitals of Spain, old and new - Toledo and Madrid.
That musical idea of connecting the traditions of flamenco and Castile stems from the very origin of the artists, who demonstrate their personal emotional and cultural connections through the musical spectacle "Vientos del Eresma".
Guitarist Dani Hernández composed and designed the concert repertoire, which is entirely based on flamenco, although it contains cultural references to Castile. Among the well-known flamenco forms, such as sigiriya, alegrías, guajira, verdiales, tarantas, bulerías and tangos, you can also notice melodic hints of traditional Castilian music. The influence of Agapito Marasuela, a musician and folklorist from Segovia, is also indelible. The lyrics are a combination of original and popular songs, flamenco and Castilian, combined with lyrics written by Antonio Macado.
This flamenco quintet achieved great success in Spain, both at the "Flamencura" festivals in La Granja de San Ildefonso and "Las Noches del Atrio" in Segovia.
Guitar Art Festival in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain and the Cervantes Institute in Belgrade continues its tradition and mission, which has lasted over two decades, of promoting the best artists of the young generation in Serbia and the region.
