The group Orthodox Celts was founded in Belgrade in 1992, and they held their first concert on St. Patrick's Day in 1993, and they hold the title of the band with the longest specific musical tradition in local rock and roll - the Celts are, in fact, the only group of ours that has held a concert on the same day every year since its inception. It is a real festival where fans from all over the region gather. It is a unique celebration of Irish culture and its connections with the Balkans, which has an extremely loyal audience, always ready for choral singing with the band and special choreographies during the performance of famous songs!
In anticipation of the traditional Belgrade concert, Celta frontman Aleksandar Petrović - Aca Celtik says that March 17 is everything: "Both birthday and glory and the first day of the New Year, calendar, season... He is our beginning and end! And just as every year at the crossroads and at the meeting point we say goodbye to the old and start a new cycle, so now, for the 33rd time in a row, we will move forward together! Because there is no going back! The Celts Strike Again!”
The first album, called "Orthodox Celts", was released by the band in 1994. They followed "The Celts Strike Again" (1996), "Green Roses" (1999), "A Moment Like the Longest Day" (2002), "One, Two" (2007) and "Many Mouths Shut!" (2017). Each of them deepened the special importance of this group, its exceptional popularity and high artistic value. Today, it can rightly be said that Orthodox Celts are one of the greatest cult bands of all time in our region.
With their energetic and passionate performance, as well as their highly emotional interaction with the audience, they have brought generations of listeners to their feet. Nurturing the tradition of Irish music, in their own style and with a uniquely close relationship with their fans, these "Serbian Irish" represent an authentic musical phenomenon born in this region. Precisely for these reasons, Orthodox Celts are one of our biggest concert attractions, which is confirmed by their every appearance on the stage, for more than three decades.
